About Me

Margherita Stammati, affectionately known as Aarti in her yoga classes, is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher with more than 8,000 hours of teaching experience.

Born in Canada to Italian parents, she moved to France at the age of 14, where her passion for movement began. Early experience with ballet fitness and Pilates laid the foundation for a lifelong career in health, movement and wellbeing.

A Journey Through Movement

In 2014, Margherita moved to London to train at the Pole Dance Academy. What began as a new challenge quickly grew into a career in teaching movement and fitness.

From 2016, she taught pole dance and fitness classes at Pole & Fitness Tenerife, where she also worked as Lead Personal Trainer. These years shaped her teaching style and reinforced her belief that movement should help people feel stronger, more confident and more connected to their bodies.

Becoming a Yoga Teacher

Margherita completed her first 200-hour Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in 2017.

She has since continued to deepen her knowledge through specialist training in:

  • 200-hour Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga

  • Aerial Yoga

  • 100-hour Krama Yoga

  • 300-hour Ayurveda and Trauma-Informed Yoga

Learning has always been central to her teaching, and she continues to study so she can offer classes that are both safe and meaningful.

Teaching Experience

Between 2014 and 2025, Margherita lived in Tenerife, where she founded and ran her own yoga studio from 2019 to 2025. During this time she taught Hatha, Vinyasa, Aerial Yoga, Flexy, Loop and Pole classes, while also serving as Lead Trainer for a highly regarded 200-hour Hatha & Vinyasa Teacher Training programme recognised among the best in Europe.

Her Teaching Philosophy

Margherita’s classes are known for being calm, welcoming and practical. She is especially passionate about helping beginners feel safe, supported and confident.

Her trauma-informed training, careful observation and experience working with thousands of students allow her to adapt each class to the people in front of her.

She is also one of the few teachers to offer Vinyasa classes inspired by the five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. These classes encourage students to connect movement, breath and awareness in a way that feels both grounded and intuitive.

Beyond the Yoga Mat

Margherita is also a licensed Thai Yoga Massage and Lomi Lomi Nui massage therapist, bringing a holistic perspective to her teaching and bodywork.

She speaks five languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese, allowing her to connect with students from many different backgrounds.

Today

In 2025, Margherita moved to Salvador, Brazil, where she continues to teach online, host retreats and offer private massage sessions.

Whatever the setting, her goal remains the same: to help people move with greater confidence, feel more at home in their bodies and discover the transformative power of yoga.
