Ether & Expansion | Ardha Chandrāsana Flow

A spacious, grounding Power Asanas class focused on the Ether element and the relationship between discomfort, presence, and expansion.

This practice explores the idea that “the āsana begins when you want to leave it” — not through force or pain, but through conscious awareness, breath, and staying present with sensation instead of escaping it.

We begin with grounding breathwork and an ether-inspired meditation before warming the body through bridge variations, seated core work, and spinal mobility. From there, we move through a fluid mandala-style flow designed to open the hamstrings, strengthen the obliques, and create stability for our peak pose: Ardha Chandrāsana (Half Moon Pose).

Along the way we explore:

  • Standing splits
  • High lunge & Vīrabhadrāsana I and II (Warrior I & II)
  • Goddess Pose / Kālī Āsana
  • Wild Thing variations
  • Lizard Pose
  • Vīrabhadrāsana III (Warrior III)
  • Ardha Chandrāsana variations with props

We finish with deep hip-opening stretches, supported forward folds, a gentle supported Matsyāsana (Fish Pose), and a long ether-themed Śavāsana focused on spaciousness, stillness, and learning how to soften instead of resist.

Props recommended:
2 yoga blocks (or books), optional wall support, and a blanket if needed.

A strong but mindful class that invites balance, patience, and the courage to stay present within the uncomfortable moments.
