Ether & Air — New Moon Flow (Astavakrasana Peak)
This class moves through the quiet threshold of the New Moon — a space where nothing is forced, yet everything is quietly preparing to emerge.
We begin with Akasha Namaskar (Ether Salutation), setting the tone for a practice rooted in spaciousness, breath, and subtle awareness. From there, we gently awaken the body — warming the wrists and forearms in tabletop, activating the hips and legs with fire hydrants, and building heat through oblique work in side plank.
As the practice unfolds, we explore the relationship between effort and lightness. Hip flexors and inner thighs are opened through Malasana, animal flow patterns, and low lunge variations like lizard — creating the conditions for lift without force.
There is a thread of quiet preparation throughout, with Baby Grasshopper introducing the shape and intelligence needed for our peak: Astavakrasana.
From there, we play at the edge — exploring transitions and the possibility of moving from Astavakrasana into Eka Pada Koundinyasana, inviting curiosity rather than expectation.
The practice softens as we land — releasing through shoulder stretches, grounding into square pigeon, and opening the heart in Matsyasana.
This is a class about space —
space in the body,
space in the breath,
space between effort and surrender.
A reminder that not everything needs to be filled.
Sometimes, the most powerful place to be… is right in the middle of becoming.
