The different classes we offer:
Flexy

In this flexibility class, we begin with an effective warm-up to prepare the body for a good stretch. Different accessories are used; like the elastics, the feet-up and the aerial yoga stirrups, which help to get into a deeper and more satisfying stretch. Good flexibility aids in better range of motion and helps muscle strength to prevent injury. A class for all levels! This class is taught by Aarti Marghertia. **
Yoga Alignment

This class is based on Iyengar yoga and Yin yoga teaching methods. This style of yoga is designed to offer the student a thorough understanding of the postures and to explore asanas on a deeper level. It emphasises correct alignment of all parts of the body within each yoga pose. This precision builds strength and stamina–balance and flexibility–and a new sense of self-exploration and well being. Alignment Yoga allows steady progress in the art and science of yoga and provides solid tools to make almost any yoga pose work for you. This class is taught by Sonia, a fantastic French-Austrian yoga teacher who is fabulous at correcting postures. **
Yin / Yang Yoga

The Taoist principle of Yin and Yang is that all things exist as contradictory opposites, yet in an inseparable and complementary way. Yin and Yang are two main qualities present in everything and seek for constant balance one with each other. Yin holds more inward, passive, receptive, feminine qualities, whereas Yang is more external, dynamic, warming, strong and masculine. For a balanced Yoga practice, we need both Yin and Yang elements. Yin Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice : Yin Yoga, which is a slower practice where poses are passively held longer, allowing a deep and dense (yin) work on connective tissues and joints ; and Yang Yoga, which is a more ashtanga / vinyasa based asana practice, which helps develop muscular strength, flexibility and activates the inner fire, passion and power. This class is perfect for beginners, who want to benefit from both, a stimulating yet regenerative practice, as well as for more advanced students, who seek for a balanced practice all in the same class. This class is taught by Sonia, a fantastic French-Austrian yoga teacher who is very relaxed with lots of patients. **
Element Vinyasa Yoga

A dynamic class that connects one of the five elements with fluid movements (of the Krama Vinyasa style). The entire body is worked through the asanas (postures) placed in a sequence (flow). The fluid movement strengthens the muscles and improves flexibility while using breathing techniques to control and guide the mind, balancing mind and body. Each class starts with 5 minutes of meditation and ends with 5 minutes of relaxation. A class for all levels, however it is considered to be rather dynamic. Yoga beginners welcome! This class is taught by Aarti Marghertia, specialised in Krama Vinyasa. **
Pre / Post Natal Yoga

In our prenatal yoga classes, the aim is to connect with the body and the wonderful transformations that happen during pregnancy. We encourage the connection between mother and baby, while taking care of the spine’s posture and bringing awareness to natural breath. We focuse on asanas that work on opening the pelvic floor in preparation for childbirth, on the opening of the high back chain, because mothers tend to close their shoulders due to the greater weight of their breasts, on the elongation of the spine, on creating space for the belly and the baby and on the breath, so that mother and baby are well oxygenated.
These classes will help you to :
✓ Eliminate back pain
✓ Maintain a healthy weight gain
✓ Get rid of your stress
✓ Sleep better
✓ Build strength to comfortably carry the weight of your growing baby
✓ Prepare for labour and birth
✓ Connect deeper with your baby
✓ Recover easily and faster after delivery
✓ And generally just… feel better
This class is also open for post-partum, to bring yourself back to a safe and regenerating practice.
It is safe to practice after the first trimester (unless any type of physical excercise is contraindicated) and you don’t need to have practiced Yoga before.
We work in small groups : max 6 students. This class is taught by Sonia, a fantastic mother and yoga teacher who is very soothing.
**The capacity is normally 10 people for all mat classes in the studio, but it may vary. (Please note: free places and availability / hours may vary according to bookings and date). Walk-ins are not allowed. You have to reserve your place in advance).
All these classes sound amazing and you just don’t know where to start?
Our suggestion is to start with the simplest class and work your way up from there. If you have never done yoga in your life, we recommend starting with Hatha Yoga or Yoga Alignment. After you have taken a couple of classes where you have been able to familiarise yourself with the basic postures, you could try the other styles of yoga that we offer. Element Vinyasa could be considered the most dynamic class among the various options. If you are looking to strengthen we recommend Flexy or Yin/Yang Yoga class.
